VideoFied

Technology

What is

Videofied?

Videofied is not a CCTV surveillance system that simply records videos that are accessed by the owner.

Rather, Videofied is a complete video alarm system that sends a short video clip with the alarm notification to the central station for immediate review.

Videofied links the video with the central station – self-surveillance does not.

A monitored video alarm delivers quicker police dispatch.

What makes VideoFied

different than a normal alarm system?

Visual verification has become a key element in security installations. The key benefit of visual verification is to reduce false alarms and prevent the dispatching of response teams for no good reason. Today, the vast majority of alarms turn out to be false alarms.

Up to 98% of alarms raised these days are false alarms caused by vegetation near the electric fence, pets, birds and wildlife triggering the beams or outdoor detectors, movement of trees, people who forget to switch off the alarm when they arrive, and so on.

This results in your security service provider either charging you with additional fees to react to your premises or them not responding to your premises due to all the previous “nuisance alarms”.

Thanks to this latest Videofied Technology (Video Verification Alarm Monitoring), we can now immediately know what is causing an alarm and we can act accordingly.

Videofied by RSI is a French manufacturer that consists of two-way wireless alarm systems with built-in video/voice verification that have been on the market since 1999. Videofied has been present in South- Africa since 2006 and has shown phenomenal growth over the past two years.

The system is based on wireless detectors communicating to a Videofied alarm panel with a 4-years backup battery life. The System / Solution is designed in such a way whereby the detector/PIR will record 5 sec to 10-sec video clips of any movement detected.

This video clip will then be sent to our NOC (National Operational Centre) whereby we as Specialised Alarm Monitoring Security Services will alert the armed reaction services to respond.

Immediate confirmation gives the client peace of mind, as we will only inform the client and the armed reaction company or police of positive alarms.

We can also alert authorities, and respond effectively as we have the footage to show exactly what we are facing. The footage can thereafter serve as evidence and may lead to a conviction.

Knowing this is a genuine break-in we can act appropriately and dispatch more than one vehicle.

It allows us a better chance of catching criminals in the act as we do not have to wait for the on-site security officers to investigate first.

Since the Videofied device allows voice communication, the operators can also speak to the Intruders, which is often enough to persuade them to leave the premises.

Alternatively, the operator can set off an alarm, activate lights or even deploy an industrial fogging system to fill the room with mist, effectively blinding the intruders.

Pepper spray is also an option.

Visual verification does more than prevent the dispatch of armed response units for no reason, it also aids reaction personnel in discovering threats that would otherwise be ignored.

For example, we are seeing more break-ins coming through the roof. Even when the criminals raise the alarm and an armed response unit is dispatched, the armed response guard probably can’t get onto the property and won’t see any signs of a break-in, and therefore leave.

With visual verification, a video clip of the intruders will be available to us, letting them know there is a real threat, where, how many and even if they are armed.

”Reaction time to a positive incident is reduced to seconds rather than minutes.”

VideoFied

Concept

On Demand Interactivity

Everything is interactive today, and video security is no different.

Videofied smartphone Apps gives customers the ability to request remote video and snapshots on demand, while the system preserves privacy with only videos of alarms being automatically sent to our Control Room for review and dispatch.

For maximum security, app functionality is completely separate from alarm procedures, and it also includes a gallery archive, arm/disarm ability, and open/close reporting.

Instantaneous Video Capture

When the MotionViewer sensor is tripped, a 10 second video clip of the event is captured and sent through cell or IP network to our Control Room

The wireless, passive infrared sensor (PIR) works with a digital video camera to record color video during the daytime, monochrome at night, all in full VGA resolution.

Verification of the event is key – and so is swift, rapid video transfer to our Control Room for review and dispatch. The video clip can also be configured for a lower-resolution, smaller file.

Monitoring Validation

Our Control Room receives the alarm and video together in the same message, allowing monitoring staff to instantly confirm the presence of an intruder.

Immediate confirmation gives the client peace of mind, as we will only inform the client and the armed reaction company or police of positive alarms.

We can also alert authorities, and respond effectively as we have the footage to show exactly what we are facing.

Priority Response

Priority Response means more arrests. Video-verified alarms have proven arrest rates thousands of times better than traditional alarms.

Traditional alarms have arrest rates at 0.08% according to police studies. The sooner responders arrive on scene, the sooner they make arrests. As a result, there’s less time for property damage to occur and a greater chance of recovering stolen property.

”Reaction time to a positive incident is reduced to seconds rather than minutes.”

Installation Everywhere

Videofied MotionViewers install anywhere: commercial or residential sites, inside or outdoors, as an upgrade to existing systems or a brand new standalone security system. The wireless installation creates an out-of-the-box solution, with the option for hardwiring if desired.

The new slimline product design looks good wherever installed, and the four-year battery life looks even better on budgets. Videofied is proven for protecting remote sites, outdoor locations and assets in harsh environments.
